About Me!
"Creativity takes courage."
~Henri Matisse
My name is Alyssa Murphy and I am the art teacher at the West Elementary School where I teach students from Kindergarten to Grade 5. Before teaching here in Stoughton, I received my BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Drawing from the University of New Hampshire in 2011. I then stayed at the University of New Hampshire to receive my Master's degree in Education in 2012. I completed my student teaching year creating art with Grades K-8 in New Hampshire. Being an art teacher is one of the best jobs in the world! I love seeing my students create new things and most importantly, trying their best.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy drawing my own art. I enjoy being outdoors. I love to hike, walk my dog, spend time at the beach or at my family's lake house in New Hampshire. I'm a huge Boston sports fan, I love the New England Patriots! I enjoy going to the movies, to museums, and spending time with my family and friends.
